Complexity Guide

What makes a design "complex"?
✧ Number of colors (both fur and skin)
✧ Amount and size of markings
✧ Small/hand-sewn markings
✧ Asymmetry in the design
✧ Extra elements (spikes, scales, hairstyles, etc)
✧ Airbrushed details
Are there designs that you can't turn into fursuits?
✧ Non-human body proportions (quadsuits, neck-vision, etc)
✧ Large areas with gradients
✧ Fur colors that are impossible to find (if you want it to be exact)In the meantime, I can suggest artists who can turn
your too-complex design into a fursuit-friendly one!

Dream Sprites are Lilac Dreams Studio's little helpers!
These little furry sprites will

1. General
Lilac Dreams Studio is an artisanal business led by an individual person, who will be referred to as the Artist here.
The Client is any person who exchanges money for a custom artisanal product or a premade artisanal product made by the maker.
Each Client can order only one commission at a time during the commission opening time.
Multiple individual products can be part of the same commission, if belonging to the same Client.Upcoming commission openings are advertised on all of the Artist's accounts ahead of the opening time. After the announcement, a timer will be added to this site.
The Client can request a quote at any moment, free of charge. The Artist will answer when available.
Provided quotes can change in price over time and are valid only within the 3 months since they were provided.
The Artist reserves the right to refuse a quote or commission request from anyone, at any time, for any reason, without obligation of justification.
The Artist does not accept rush orders nor deadlines.
The Client may indicate a desiderable deadline, but the Artist does not guarantee it will be respected and will not rush the order to meet it.
Exceptions may be made at the Artist's discretion, but a 75% fee will be applied. The Artist retains all display rights, including the right to publish, redistribute and utilize all material related to commissions for advertisement purposes.
2. Behavior & Respect
In order to request a commission, the Client must be 18 years old. Parent permission is not accepted.
The Artist does not haggle. Any discount, offer or reduction of price is decided solely by the Artist.
The Artist is only responsible for her own mistakes, meaning that she is not liable for mistakes on the Client's part.
The Artist retains the right not to follow the order of her public commission queue.
While an order will be initially established, completion and progress of all phases of the commission might be subjected to delays, shifts in schedule and unexpected pauses due to the nature of artisanal work.
High-quality custom products take time to make and the Artist will do her best to stay on track, but both availability and delivery time of the required materials also play a major role.Clients will always be promptly notified of any progress made on their order, but they're encouraged to check the public queue before asking the Artist for updates.
When posting photos of a product on social media, the Client commits to periodically specify that the product was created by the Artist, by tagging or naming the business name of the maker: Lilac Dreams Studio.
Harassment, violation of boundaries and any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, be it towards the Artist, members of the collaborator team or any other Client.
The Artist does not work with people who use AI-generated images or anything related to web3, nor wishes to be associated with them.
The Artist does not wish to be associated with people who engage in acts that violate/deny human rights, openly support those who do, or actively harm the community they're part of.
The Artist may issue a warning, but she retains the right to abandon a current Client's project without warning and issue a partial refund if said Client is found to be disruptive in any serious manner.
Minor infractions will lead to a warning, but previous Clients found to be engaging in serious ToS-breaking behavior will be removed from the family group, their warranties will be immediately voided, and be blacklisted.
Further steps may be taken depending on the gravity of the situation, up to including full and public dissociation from the individual and work done for them if necessary.
3. Warranty
The Artist offers 1 year of warranty on all individual products.
Warranty covers repairs for: popped seams, holes, tears, fitting issues, adhesive failure, material failure, general wear and tear.
Photographic proof must be provided.Warranty is immediately voided when the product:
- is damaged by the Client's negligence or on purpose.
- is modified by the Client or third parties.
- comes into contact with substances that may compromise the materials' structure or the Artist's health.
- is severely damaged or lost during shipping. The Client (or any third party) is not allowed to modify or copy the style, work and technology used in the making of any commission. Such actions will immediately void the warranty and blacklist the Client from future orders.
Special exceptions may be granted by the Artist exclusively following a direct request from the Client.
The Client accepts to cover the shipping fees in full when shipping the costume to the Artist for warranty repairs.
The Client also accepts to clean and sanitize everything before proceeding to shipping. The warranty will not be extended even in case of repairs, modifications or updates done to the product by the Artist following its completion date.
Individual parts of the costume (head, paws, tail, accessories, etc) are identified as individual products, and as such will have their individual warranty. The Client can still ask for repairs after the warranty has expired, but they are aware it's a paid service that will be done at the Artist's discretion.
The Artist may still reject repair requests if the warranty has been voided before its expiration or would have been voided following it.
4. Liability Disclaimer
The Client takes full responsibility for what they do while wearing their product, meaning that the Artist is not liable for the Client's actions, for any health issue caused by the product, or for any physical damage caused by it.
By wearing the product, the Client confirms that they are informed of the risks posed by it (limited vision and mobility, reduced ventilation, risk of overheating, change of knocking into/down things, etc) and that they are aware of how to prevent them (proper hydration, regular breaks, awareness of the symptoms and their surroundings, etc).
The Client must inform the Artist in case of allergies to animals or specific products.
The Client is hereby informed that the Artist's workspace is at times shared with a dog.
The Artist will try to keep the contact to a minimum, but she cannot guarantee allergen-free products, so those with a severe dog allergy are discouraged from becoming Clients. The Client agrees to the Terms of Service on this page and confirms they are aware of everything written in them.
5. Process
Quotes are estimates and subject to change due to fluctuating material prices. Due to that, they're only valid for 3 months.
During the quote phase, the Artist will request an accurate reference sheet of the character, which will be used as the base for the requested work.
2-3 clear and consistent views (front/back/side) are required for complex designs and full body costumes.During the planning stage, the Client is authorized to request changes about anything.
This becomes no longer possible once the materials are bought and actual work on the product is started. The Artist will provide regular updates (WIPs) to the Client throughout the project's progress, with clear indications on when decisions are final.
It's the Client's responsibility to pay attention, give feedback and bring to attention anything they want changed or fixed before decisions are made.Once work has started, the Client may ask for up to two small changes from what was agreed upon during the planning phase.
The Artist may accept, depending on the change's extent and chance of compromising the rest of the work done.
Further changes will lead to additional fees applied to the total.
Major changes to agreed upon elements will be accepted by the Artist only in exceptional cases. The requested changes' extent and the additional work required to implement them will always lead to additional fees applied to the total.
In case of lack of feedback from the Client after 3 days from the update communication, the Artist has the right to consider the WIP in question approved or pause the commission until further decision. The Client is aware that any delay in communication will affect their spot on the queue.
Products might present small defects derived from the creation process, such as minor asymmetries and imperfections tied to the raw materials utilized. The Client recognizes that this is an expected and normal thing for artisanal products.
Regardless, all Lilac Dreams Studio's products are subjected to a careful process of test and revision before delivery to the client, so as to correct as best as possible eventual imperfections present in it.In case of commissions that require a duct tape dummy (DTD), utmost seriousness and care in making it correctly is required of the Client.
The Client will cover the materials and shipping expenses for their DTD.
If the DTD presents clear defects or was made incorrectly, the Artist reserves the right to ask the Client to make and send a new DTD. The Client will have to cover the expenses again.
6. Payment & Refunds
Payment is accepted exclusively in € (EURO).
The Client is responsible for covering currency conversion fees, if applicable.Payments are made through bank transfers.
Additional payment methods (Paypal, Revolut, etc) may be discussed. The Client can pay upfront or request payment plans.
Partials and smaller orders will have up to 5 installments:
- 1st: initial non-refundable deposit of €200 to confirm the slot.
- 2nd: at purchase of all materials.
- 3rd: at the beginning of project.
- 4th: halfway through project.
- 5th: after project completion (includes additional fees + shipping).
Full suits may go up to 7 installments. Custom payment plans can be discussed. Additional fees are the Client's responsibility.Commissions under 500€ will require full payment upfront, unless agreed otherwise.
The Artist is not responsible for failed or incorrect payments made by the Client.
The Artist will not begin working the commission proper until the second installment has been paid, unless agreed otherwise.
Completed orders will not be shipped until full payment is received, including the shipping costs.
Every commission will have a deposit, which is not refundable past the planning phase, as it covers the time put into the quote, communication and initial preparations.
Full refunds with deposit included are only possible if, during the initial phases, the Artist can't or doesn't wish to proceed anymore. The Client can only ask for a partial refund, which will exclude the deposit and the portion of the total that was used in production.
No materials or parts can be shipped to the Client once they request a refund, unless explicitly agreed otherwise. The Artist reserves the right to cancel a commission in case of ToS-breaking behavior on the Client's part.
A partial refund will be issued to the Client. In the case of missing payments on the Client's side, the Artist reserves the right to apply late fees to the commission.
Said fees progressively increase the total price by 5/10/15% each month up to the fourth month, when the commission will be cancelled without refund and the Client will lose the rights to the commission.
Exceptions to this rule can be granted by the Artist through timely communication on the Client's side, but storage fees may still be applied. The Artist reserves the right to reappropriate the rights on the product (not the character) as is on any cancelled commission.
The right of reselling the product is included, and any design change prior to reselling will be done at the Artist's discretion.
7. Shipping
Orders will be shipped via courier with digital tracking.
Shipping is not included in any quote for the commission, as it can only be provided once the commission itself has been concluded, packaged and weighed.
The final costs will depend on prices of the shipping companies at the time of completion.
If possible, the Client will be able to choose the company. The Artist is not responsible for customs fees, meaning that the Client should be ready to promptly pay them.
For non-European clients: make sure that your country's laws allow you to receive packages from Italy and that you can cover the shipping costs and customs..The Artist is not responsible for eventual damages during shipping or lost packages.
Due to the value of the product, buying the insurance policy of the chosen shipping company is a requirement.
Electing not to buy insurance automatically suspends the warranty, meaning it will not cover shipping-related damages.
The Client is strongly encouraged to notify the Artist as soon as the product is delivered.
It is the responsibility of the Client to warn the Artist of any issue with the product within 30 days of delivery.
In case of returned packages, the Client will be responsible for paying shipping again.
Clients may request local pickup or at-con delivery, but it's always on a case-by-case basis at the Artist's discretion.
At-con delivery is possible only at a small selection of Italian and European conventions.

Commissions & Quotes
★ Do you take commissions?
Yes, that's the main source of income for my business, but I only take commissions during openings.★ How often do you open more commission slots?
I open for commissions 1 or 2 times per year.
The amount of available slots always depends on the requests I receive and choose.★ Do you take commissions for fursuit parts, accessories and props?
Yes, I can take smaller commissions even outside of commission openings!
Such commissions will have their own queue, since they can be done in-between other projects, but my availability for them will depend on my current workload and overall progress with my main queue.
In any case, contact me and let's talk about it!★ Can I commission a partial and then upgrade it later on?
Yes, and previous clients have an easier time securing a slot for upgrades or 2.0 versions!
Just please let me know if it's something you're planning to do on the short term, so we can make sure the fur matches.★ Can I commission you if I'm a minor?
No, only adults can commission me.
I won't ever do custom orders for a minor, even if their parents approve of it and/or commission me themselves.★ Can I request a quote? When? How?
You can always request a quote from me, just contact me anywhere on my socials or through my form!
However, it may take me a few days to get back to you, as I may be busy!
Also, all quotes will be valid only for 3 months.★ Do you accept payment plans?
Yes, they're an option for orders above €500.
Partials and other orders will have up to 5 installments:
- 1st: initial non-refundable deposit of €200 to confirm the slot.
- 2nd: at purchase of all materials.
- 3rd: at the beginning of project
- 4th: halfway through project
- 5th: after project completion (includes additional fees + shipping).
The timing of the 2nd and 3rd installment will depend on your position in the queue, while the rest will have to be paid within a month or two.
Full suits may go up to 7 installments, but custom payment plans can always be discussed, so don't be afraid to reach out!
★ What species can you make?
I am up for making any and all species! I like the challenge!★ Can you make fursuits of copyrighted species/characters or cosplay fursuits?
It depends!
Legally-speaking, cosplay fursuits are a touchy subject when it comes to commissions, meaning I can't make characters from copyrighted IPs.
However, I can make characters inspired by them if their designs differ enough from their canon appearance.
For example, an anthro version of a feral species from a game could be up for consideration, especially if it has different coloring from its inspiration.★ Do you take artistic liberty commissions?
I haven't gotten the chance to do one so far, but I would love to give it a try!★ Can I commission you without a reference sheet of my character?
No, sorry. I will not take on clients without a proper reference sheet, but I can suggest artists who can do fursuit-friendly references!
In the future, I may to offer fursuit references as a service.★ Can I commission a fursuit in a style different from yours?
Sorry, I will only do fursuits in my own toony style, but I would love to experiment with kemono style as well.★ I have a base from another maker and/or fur I want you to use. Would you work with them?
Sorry, but no.
I will only use my own bases for commissions, while fur and other materials need to be sourced and stored correctly to keep a consistent quality.★ Can you add extra zippers to a fursuit?
I can add as many zippers as you need where you need them, regardless of intended function.
However, please be aware that any activity that may make the costume come into contact with bodily fluids of any kind will void the warranty due to hygiene concerns.★ What will be included with my fursuit?
Your fursuit order will include a pouch bag with 2 brushes, a lanyard, some stickers, a Lilac Dreams Studio flag and repair microkit.★ I want something that is not listed in your Price List. Will you do it?
Just contact me anywhere on my socials or through my form, so we can talk about it!
Materials & Craft
★ What are your fursuit heads made out of?
The fursuit bases are made of TPU.
The rest of the materials are faux fur, minky, neoprene and PLA prints.★ Can you make moving jaws?
Making moving jaws with TPU bases is pretty challenging, but I've been experimenting and so far I've made Sabot the Gryphon.
There are some things I plan to improve on and others I want try next time, so if you want to be the next test subject, you're welcome to become a client and "volunteer" ;3★ Can be fursuit be of the exact colors I want?
Sadly it's not always possible.
Good-quality materials only come in so many colors, and some may be discontinued or not available for long amounts of time.
When making quotes, I will try to check availability materials matching the colors in the reference, to see if it's at all possible to get close to your design.
Then, during the planning phase, we will be figuring out the exact shades together!
However, be aware that what is ultimately received may be slightly different from the site's pics, even when ordering more of the same fur months later.★ Do you line your heads and paws?
Yes, I do partial lining for both of them using neoprene, but I'm looking into alternative materials as well.
If you don't want lining inside the head, we can discuss other options, but it's an integral part of my paws.
★ Can your fursuit have electronics (LEDs, fans, etc) in them?
Yes, I can offer both LEDs and fans as extras!★ Are your fursuit heads glasses-friendly?
Yes, my fursuit heads are large enough that they can fit most types of glasses.
If you plan on wearing glasses while suiting, pleaase make sure to mention it! I will ask you to give me measurements with your glasses of choice on, so I can make sure to leave a little more space for your comfort!★ Are your fursuit noses soft? Are they pickable?
Yup, my fursuit noses are printed in TPU and they're soft enough to be booped.
Also yes, they're pickable!★ Is a DTD (duct tape dummy) required for bodysuits?
Yes, it's needed to make sure your measurements are correct, and it's very important to do it right!
Here's a DTD guide!★ What types of feetpaw sole do you offer?
Indoor and outdoor soles.★ What shoes do you use for feetpaws?
I use crocs!
They're comfortable and are spread across the globe, so it's a good way to standardize measurements.
You can send them with your DTD, or go try them on and then tell me the size so I can buy them (a fee will be included)!
Turnaround Times
★ How long will my commission take to be completed?
I cannot give a general estimate for it, as the overall time depends on the current queue and your position in it.
Once I start an order, it usually takes me around a month to finish a partial fursuit, or around two months to finish a full body fursuit.
Please keep in mind that many things can impact my progress on the queue: character's complexity, issues with materials, delays in deliveries or client communication, IRL issues taking priority.★ How often will I receive WIP (work in progress) pics?
I send WIPs to the respective clients pretty much every single day I work on their project!
★ Do you offer deadlines or rush orders?
Technically no.
You can indicate a desiderable deadline, but I can't guarantee it will be met.
I will never rush the process at any point, because I value my ability to provide quality products to my clients and I will not compromise that.
I may do an exception to the rule if (and only if), but my queue has to allow for it and I will require a 75% fee.
Shipping & Returns
★ Where do you ship from? Can you ship internationally?
I ship internationally from Italy!
However, when you ask for a quote, please make sure to mention where you're from if you're not European/in the Schengen area.
That way, we can check right away if your country's laws currently allow you to receive packages from Italy, and you can get a very rough idea of how much shipping costs and customs will be for you ahead of time.★ Do you offer local pickup? What about pickup at conventions?
Yes, but it's always on a case-by-case basis!
> Local pickup can only be done in my region (Tuscany, Italy), strictly at a public location agreed upon by both parties.
I will not let clients come to my house/studio, I won't drive long-distance to deliver it, and you'll be expected to respect boundaries!
> At-con delivery is possible, but only at a very small selection of Italian and European conventions (listed at the bottom of my About page) or at local furmeets in my area. And even then, it may not be always possible due to luggage limits.
★ What's your return/refund policy?
I do not accept returns, but I am able to offer partial refunds if you decide to cancel your commission.
Said refund will exclude the non-refundable deposit and a percentage of the sum corresponding to the work already done, but you will not receive parts nor materials.
Please read section 6 of my ToS for more information on the topic.

Other
★ What languages can you speak?
I primarily speak Italian!
My English is not great, so English communication will be handled by my partner for the most part, while translation and important communications are handled by my collaborator WhitewingsArt.★ What are your work hours?
I work at home and I'm still settling into my new studio, so my schedule is not fixed at the moment.
I work a lot of hours for sure, though.★ Do you offer repair/refurbish services for fursuits from other makers?
I can offer repair services, but only with explicit permission from the other maker.
I won't refurbish other people's fursuits, but I may offer it for my previous fursuits.★ How do I clean my fursuit?
Here's our Fursuit Care guide!
★ Do you accept trades?
Yes, but only if what's being offered is similar in value.
I may say no if I'm not interested or too busy at the time, but feel free to ask!★ Do you sell head bases?
No.
My bases (flawed prints or not) will exclusively be sold or gifted to friends and people I trust.★ Are there any allergies concerns?
I work from home and my workspace is at times shared with my dog.
I can try to keep the contact to a minimum, but I cannot guarantee my products will be fully allergen-free. If you have a severe dog allergy, you should look for a different fursuit maker.
DTD Guide
Duct tape dummies (DTD) are a great tool for fursuit makers, as they serve as replica of the client's body and allow them to create form-fitting costumes without needing to take countless measurements, no matter the distance between. In case of commissions that require a duct tape dummy (DTD), utmost seriousness and care in making it correctly is required of the Client.
The Client will cover the materials and shipping expenses for their DTD.
If the DTD presents clear defects or was made incorrectly, the Artist reserves the right to ask the Client to make and send a new DTD. The Client will have to cover the expenses again. Also, make sure you have someone to help you, as it's not possible to do a proper DTD without help.Additionally, I use crocs for feetpaws!
They're comfortable and are spread across the globe, so it's a good way to standardize measurements.
You can send them along with your DTD, or go try them on and then tell me what size to buy (a fee will be included)!
Here is my go-to video guide for DTDs

Fursuit Care
Index
✧ General ✧ Wearing Tips ✧ Cleaning ✧ Washing ✧
General Fursuit Care
✧ Brush it often, with care and the right tools.
✧ Follow fur direction when brushing to avoid tearing out the fur. It does not grow back!
✧ Try to avoid brushing non-fur parts, as you might damage the fabric.✧ Disinfect your fursuit after every use, to keep nasty bacteria away.
✧ Air dry after every use, to keep mold and mildew away from your fursuit.
✧ Washing is not necessary after every outing, but it's recommended if you've sweated a lot or gotten it dirty. It's good practice to wash it after every convention or furmeet.✧ Keep your fursuit away from heat and out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
Faux fur and other materials can melt at very low heat, and sunlight will make them discolored and brittle eventually.
✧ Try to minimize the time inside hot cars and don't forget your suit there!✧ Lilac Dreams Studio's fursuits are made to be durable and last for many years, but they're not indistructible!
Taking proper care of your fursuit will make it stay in great shape for longer, but remember not to be too rough while wearing it, as certain activities can easily wear out the materials or directly cause damage.
Wearing Tips
★ Before ★
Make sure you're clean and apply deodorant before wearing your fursuit.
You will sweat while wearing layers of fur, and you don't want your fursuit to get stinky!
(A shower is ideal, but a quick wash is better than nothing)Always remember to give your fursuit a good brushing before heading out, so it will look its best!☆★ Clothing tips ★
If you plan on wearing just your head, handpaws and tail:
- wear breathable clothing fitting for the current weather, so you will not overheat!
- wear a balaclava and gloves to keep the sweat away from the costume! Choose spandex, lycra or any other material that can keep sweat in and is comfortable for you!If you plan on wearing a bodysuit:
- for brief suiting sessions, wear breathable clothing, but make sure to avoid contact between your skin and the inside of the costume if you can. That way you can avoid sweat being absorbed by it and you will avoid any potential skin abrasion.
- for long suiting sessions, wear under armour, cooling vests or other thermoregulatory clothes. This is particularly important if you're going to be under direct sunlight or in a warm environment!Important sidenote: you're wearing materials that trap heat very easily, so always make sure to take extra safety measures if you're taking medications or have health conditions that may make you more susceptible to heatstroke or heat-related health issues.☆★ After ★
Follow the next section to keep your fursuit healthy in the long run!
Also keep yourself healthy: hydrate, take a shower to cool off and clean up, and rest up!
Cleaning
After every use, it's important you take these steps to keep your fursuit clean.
You're wearing and breathing inside it, so you don't want icky stuff to call it home!★ Disinfect it ★
✧ Only use fursuit sprays or dedicated disinfectants. You don't want residue on the fur or damages.
✧ Fursuit sprays must be 70% isopropyl alcohol diluted with water. Essential oils can be added, but avoid any other ingredient.
✧ Always shake before use and spray from at least 20cm of distance. It will evaporate, but you don't want to wet your fursuit and have to wait longer.
✧ Comb all fur right after spraying.
✧ Always let the sprayed parts air-dry. Do not wear them immediately after use.
✧ Do not spray disinfectants directly on the eyes, electronics or eventual painted parts.
✧ Disinfectant spray is not a replacement for washing your fursuit.☆
★ Brush it ★
✧ Use the correct tools for the job! I suggest wire slicker brushes with plastic tips for long fur, and beard brushes for short fur!
✧ Proper brushing technique is delicate and follows the direction of the fur. You don't want to rip it out!
✧ Be extra gentle when brushing shaved fur, especially on the face.
✧ Try to avoid brushing non-fur parts, as you might damage the fabric.

☆★ Store it properly ★
✧ Always brush, spray the fursuit with disinfectant spray and air dry before storing it.
✧ Regardless of where you store it, keeping dryer sheets or silica packets in the same place will help keep moisture away. Any moisture can lead to mildew and mold growth.
✧ Keep the stored costume in a dry and cool environment, or at least away from direct sunlight or heat/humidity sources.
✧ Try to avoid folding the fur. Roll it up if you can!
✧ Prolonged storage can damage fur and TPU, particularly if folded or under pressure for a long time, so make sure to periodically take your fursuit out to inspect and brush it.
Washing
It's not always possible to wash your fursuit right after wearing it, especially if you're at a convention.
However, it's very important to deep clean your fursuit every few events, even if you keep it clean.
Important: the entire process will take a few days, so make sure you have the time and available space for it!
Body, hand/feetpaws and tails
✧ Remove accessories and detachable parts from the main body.
✧ Remove all the padding/stuffing you have access to. Padding is not meant to be washed, as it will take a very long time to dry.
✧ Suggestion: use different bags to store stuffing for different parts and mark which one it is (one bag for the right leg, one for the left, one for the tail).★ Washing Machine ★
✧ If your body/tail has many details (spikes, feathers, etc), make sure to ask the fursuit maker if it's safe for the washing machine.
✧ Turn the bodysuit inside out (if you can) and zip it up (to preserve the zipper).
✧ Place each item in a separate net bag.
✧ Always wash the fursuit separately from other clothes.
✧ Use mild detergents and a color-catching sheet.
✧ Use delicate cycles and cold water ONLY.
✧ You can spin/drain cycle an extra time or two to get as much water as possible out.
★ Handwash ★
✧ Always wash with cold water.
✧ You can make water barely lukewarm if you need to, but the colder you can handle, the better.
✧ Use mild detergents only.
✧ Make sure to properly rinse all of the detergent out. You don't want any residue on the fur.
✧ Wring as much water as you can out of the fur, but be careful not to rip or tear the fabric.
✧ If you have issues with manually wringing your fursuit, you can put it in the washing machine for a spin/drain cycle (follow the washing machine instructions above!).

★ Portable carpet cleaner ★
✧ There are many cleaners that can do this, but make sure to choose one that does not heat the water, otherwise you might damage the fur.
✧ Use a carpet cleaner liquid that is intended for synthetic fabrics, or gentle detergents.
✧ You can look up more specific instructions, but always follow the specific machine's manual.
✧ Be gentle when doing more delicate parts, like fingers and seams.
✧ Keep washing the fur until you get clean waste water, then do a final wash with just water.
✧ Suck out as much water as possible to make it dry faster.
Heads
✧ Remove all accessories (earrings, piercings, collars, etc) and detachable parts (tongues, facial expressions, removable hairstyles, etc).
✧ My heads are not meant for washing machines.
✧ Handwash: make sure to only soak the back half of the head and try not to submerge the eyes area. Strictly use a damp cloth to clean the face.
✧ Carpet cleaner: be careful when cleaning the face, as it may strain the more delicate parts.
✧ See Body section above for other tips.★ Regular heads ★
✧ Remove regular 3D eyes. They are waterproof, but detergents may still damage the sublimated mesh.★ Heads with electronics ★
✧ Heads with LED eyes and fans require extra care during washing, as those parts can't be removed.
✧ Make sure to cover the electronics with plastic/paper towels to absorb any water that may accidentally touch them, and pay extra attention to them.
✧ Only wash the area next to them with a carpet cleaner, or be very careful while handwashing with a damp cloth.★ Accessories ★
✧ If you need to wash an accessory, make sure it's compatible with water, then use a damp cloth.
✧ Do not use a carpet cleaner to wash small accessories, as they may get sucked up.
Drying
✧ Brush everything after washing. As always, make sure you follow the direction of the fur.
✧ Repeat the process every few hours.✧ Place the fursuit parts in front/on top of a fan, making sure there's internal air circulation and that fur strands are not caught by the blades.
✧ Smaller fans can be placed inside reasonably-dry parts.✧ Use wide and study hangers to hang your bodysuit, or drape it over something wide.
✧ Do not hang bodysuits if they're still very wet and heavy with water, as it might permanently stretch the fur on the shoulder area.✧ Do not expose drying parts to the sun or heat of any kind, as it will damage the fur. This includes heaters, hairdriers and anything with warm settings.
✧ Do not use a dryer.✧ Drying may take up to a few days, depending on weather and size of the part.
✧ After making sure it's thoroughly dried, you can spray any fursuit/fabric spray of your choice from a safe distance, then let it dry some more.
✧ Reattach all accessories and parts before storing.
